| The Lord hath sent strength for thee. Psalm 68:28.
The Lord
imparts unto us that primary strength of character which makes
everything in life work with intensity and decision. We are
"strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man." And the
strength is continuous; reserves of power come to us which we cannot
exhaust.
"As thy days, so shall thy strength be" -- strength of will,
strength of affection, strength of judgment, strength of ideals and
achievement.
"The Lord is my strength" to go on. He gives us
power to tread the dead level, to walk the long lane that seems never
to have a turning, to go through those long reaches of life which
afford no pleasant surprise, and which depress the spirits in the
sameness of a terrible drudgery.
"The Lord is my strength" to go up. He is to me the power by which I can climb the Hill Difficulty and not be afraid.
"The
Lord is my strength" to sit still. And how difficult is the attainment!
Do we not often say to one another, in seasons when we are compelled to
be quiet, "If only I could do something!" When the child is ill, and
the mother stands by in comparative impotence, how severe is the test.
But to do nothing, just to sit still and wait, requires tremendous
strength.
"The Lord is my strength!"

| For what is some did not believe? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? - Romans 3:3.
I
think I can trace every scrap of sorrow in my life to simple unbelief.
How could I be anything but quite happy if I believed always that all
the past is forgiven, and all the present furnished with power, and all
the future bright with hope because of the same abiding facts which do
not change with my mood, do not stumble because I totter and stagger at
the promise through unbelief, but stand firm and clear with their peaks
of pearl cleaving the air of eternity, and that bases of their hills
rooted unfathomable in the rock of God.
- James Smetham
Unbelief
says, "How can such and such things be?" It is full of "hows"' but
faith has one great answer to the ten thousand "hows," and that answer
is -- GOD! - C. H. M.
No praying man or woman accomplishes so much with so little expenditure of time as when he or she is praying. - A E. McAdam
"Nothing lies beyond the reach of prayer except that which lies outside the will of God."

| Yes, I agree, Jinna. I have *GOT* to update. Mainly because:
a) I no longer live in Oakland. (Although my Ms. Farh myspace account is still *highly* active... Note, this is also how I keep track of my kids' progress... that is, their PHYSICAL progress! DANG, they are getting big and mighty pretty. Happy sigh!) Here are my 4.0-ers from last year, who are way smarter than I ever was:
b) The car that I fondly speak of (see entry below) is probably still in some scrap metal yard because it got totaled right before I left Oakland! Can I please point out, it was NOT my fault? Here's what I last remember of my baby. *Sniff.*

Moving right along...
c) Now, instead of trying *really* hard to be a good role model and teacher for my kids, I am back to being a student!!! Yes -- business school has been fab so far. This is mainly because I have some amazing cohort members, who are like sisters to me!!!
Seriously, these ladies bring so much joy to my daily life as a Ph.D. student. I love them, I love them, I love them.
d) I found a church! That I love! Finally! After years and years of feeling non-committal and unable to get involved, I have ironically found my home at a church within walking distance of where I live. They are like family to me already, and I am blessed every time we gather for fellowship, Bible study, or service. (They can also be a little crazy, which is right down my aisle... see photo below of my beloved women's group.) Thanks, ladies, for keeping me accountable in my spiritual growth.

e) I love being back on the EAST COAST... because NY is at my finger tips. No, not the shopping. (I really have changed, you guys!!!) It's the PEOPLE in NY that I *love*!!! My recent Thanksgiving spent in NY was simply surreal thanks to the presence of a few key individuals...
...Lucky me! I got to spend a brief moment with Jins, but *SO* worth it. Smoochsmooch...

...A blessed (cooking) reunion with my high school friends from HK... btw, these are both QUALITY ladies, so if any of you QUALITY men would like to step up!...
...Speaking of quality men, I had a *BLAST* seeing Winston (after two years) and Randy (after six!) again!...
And there was more, including encounters with the notorious Ed Sun and Tommy Wong, Mr. To-Be-Married Ho Min Lee, as well as the beautiful Grace Chen and her incredible family! (But I can't figure out how to add more pics since I'm dumb.) Suffice it to say, it was a great time. Can't wait to visit again :)
Anyway -- how's that for a *very* recent update? Probably won't post again for a year :) Hopefully I'll be married with kids or something because I know you guys are really looking forward to a change :P
